One day I’ll sue Prime Video for the emotional damage and physical abuse of my refresh button 🙄
Edit:
The freestyle in the stairs 🫠 I’m fine.
Yugson is speaking French and I’m reading the English subs as if I needed them lmao.
Gosh the editing for the next freestyle with the transitions between locations… This episode is going another day of us asking for a raise for the editing team I see.
Hobi talking about only pretending to enjoy things 😭 This is heartbreaking.
People pt.2!!!! My SOPE heart 🥰
Hobi saying Bonjour 🫠 I’m not surviving this episode, bye everyone. And as always is energy is so communicating, is joy is infectious.
Every discussions between Hoseok, Hak-nam and the guests dancers are so meaningfull, I feel like there’s so much to take out of them.
So I guess I’m booking a table soon at that Solstice restaurant hm? Well maybe I need to check the price first 😂 (Edit: Yeah I’m not.)
I love house, it looks so energetic and they look like they are having so much fun while dancing.
Once again another episode of Hoseok being the coolest person ever and the most beautiful person ever. I don’t want this series to be over, this is so good.
Edit (again): I’m rewatching the episode and wow, that discussion in the café feels so heavy, it looks like Hobi really needed to get this out of his chest. I really really hope he takes the time he needs to rest once he is out of the military, but he seems like he is physically unable to stop working sometimes. Even back then, over the course of about four months he shot an entire documentary in five different locations over three continents, prepared an album, also prepared the Hope Edition of JITB, while performing at MAMA, New Year’s Eve, joined Crush on stage for that Rush Hour performance and did the entire on the street promo + mv. And maybe things we don’t know about yet, considering he said he had a 6-month post enlistment plan already.
A part of me hopes he felt a little bit confused at that time because he was about to enlist and there’s no way being on the verge of pausing your entirely life for 1,5 year can be easy mentally. But he has some strong words in that discussion. As much as I wish like everyone else that he will have a solo tour early 2025 I really hope he doesn’t put too much pressure on himself. And I hope he knows how much we appreciate his efforts because he is making so many people happy, this series and the album alone have been a huge moodbooster for me these days.
Why is hobi so cool?
How is hobi so cool?
Unreal, I can’t even!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Edit:
I am so proud of him. This is what I feel the most while watching this.
Hobi dancing house might be my favorite so far.
Weekly mention, the editing is top notch. 👌
Hobi talking about how there are not many things he actually enjoys, and he thinks he is just pretending to enjoy things 😕 I have really enjoyed his conversations with Boogaloo Kin.
People pt 2. SOPE. The music on each episode 👏🏽👏🏽
as i watch the ep, a little part of me wishes that jk could’ve been a part of this one since he took house dance classes before, then we could’ve gotten hopekook doing house dance together :’)
Help, you guys!! I love this man so so much 😭 he is showing us so many cool things, but also being incredibly open and vulnerable, and i just admire that so much. Also, him pulling all those faces and being silly in that restaurant just stole my heart even more 😭 Boogaloo Kin is such a positive influence on him, always ready with words of affirmation, and I love it.
I love how every episode has him going, “I’m not sure I can do this, I find it hard, I hadn’t been doing this right”, and then we just see him nail everything! I remember him back in early 2018 when he went to Japan with Jiminie, and that was when he said he had started learning House , exploring something new. Look at him now :’) he is just so damn GOOD! I think one of the best things about Hobi as a dancer is how aware he is of angles, and how to make every move look good. I daresay he beats even some pro dancers at this, because watching him, every move looks so *complete*, as if that was just how it was meant to be executed (I’m not a dancer at all, so this is of course just as a spectator).
Also, once again, the editing team and creative team in general 🔥🔥 just when I think I’ve figured out the general structure of the episode, they hit me with something new. People Pt. 2 was magnificent! And the music choices have been excellent, I loved the beat they were dancing to under that arch so much.
I’m so sorry this is so long.
First – obviously – I’m here to once again rave about the awesome camera work, editing and graphics. When Hobi and Hak-Nam were dancing in front of the store and anything outside of the colour box was frozen was so cool. Even the people working in the store. And I love how when they’re on the street, some people stop to watch and others continue on their day … kudos to everyone who kept this quiet.
There was some deep conversations during this episode and I’m really happy that Hobi brought them up – am I really enjoying this, do others get in slumps, do I actually know what I know – such serious and great questions.
Ahhh imposter syndrome. I was just talking about this with co-workers yesterday. It can be really hard to trust yourself and “know” that you know what you’re doing. I think a vast majority of us go through imposter syndrome or self doubt from time to time – it can be tricky to get out of that mind set and it can take a lot work to let it go and just be.
The burnout is real. I sincerely hope that when they have completed their service, they do not return to the overworked style of the idol industry. I really hope that they take time off, legit time off between albums or they move to a system of working together, then a break, then some solo work, then back together. A lot of artists work this way.
Hobi is such a perfectionist, as am I and letting that go is some of the hardest work I’ve been working on – nothing we do is ever good enough from our own POV and it can lead to tremendous breakdowns where we just can not give any more. As much as I want Hobi to know how much I/we love his work and respect/admire what he does, I know that feeling that even with all the praise in the world we secretly think “I could do better”.
I’m loving each of the people he’s meeting in this documentary and could listen to them for hours. Yugson has such a soothing voice and his foot work is amazing. I found that I was watching his foot work and then had to go back to watch his whole body. His spinning is next level. His story about going to South Africa to dance with children, seeing that they were better than him and opening his heart, dancing with happiness because you don’t know what tomorrow will bring – that’s a lesson we can all learn.
Hak-Nam hit on a topic I think a couple of people here have voiced – non BTS fans watching this and becoming aware of how amazing Hobi is as a dancer (and person).
There is such joy in Hobi when he’s meeting new people and dancing and his smiley face (“this silly face of mine” – this lovely face of his).
NGL the straight leg jeans, black turtleneck, black jacket is one of my favourite looks – he looks stunning in this outfit, it’s so simple but so stunning.
I’ve decided that Hobi needs to do a live show and have all these people with him – dancers and all the musicians/singers!
And I absolutely love how we get to see the artists in the credits!
To me, Yun Jin has a slight resemblance to actor Kim Ji Won (she’s one of my favourite actors).
Music – on the street – Hobi – Favorite Things – Masego – i don’t know – Hobi with Huh YunJin – The Look of Love – Sergio Mendes feat. Fergie – People Pt.2 – Yoongi (feat. IU) – Tadow – Masego, FKG
😊💜
Wow. Hobi is so open in this episode. The dancing is, of course, all excellent and really entertaining. I’m loving the different styles. But for me what makes it is the conversations and the soul seeking that Hobi goes through.
Him saying he isn’t sure if he loves dancing anymore or if he is pretending is so important, and slightly heartbreaking. But I understand where he’s coming from. I went into a career in my childhood passion (writing) and by about 30 it felt like a chore. So I had to find ways to switch it up and love it again.
They really, really needed this break and time away from 24hr promo or rehearsal schedules to do things for themselves without pressure.
I’m also so happy Hobi has these older mentors who can help with advice or that reflective look back on the journey. Because it can be so hard to navigate when you’re in the middle of everything.
Interestingly, we’ve seen similar older artist/mentor relationships in almost all the Tannie’s solo periods: Joon and Balming Tiger, Jimin and Pdogg, Tae and Heejin, Jin and Chris Martin, Jungkook and Brian Puspos to an extent. And Yoongi and his band, and almost everyone on Suchwita.
I hope it helps them all see things a bit differently and find themselves again. Hearing Hobi’s awesome laugh after he completes each dance move tells me he might have!
