1 yr of making this entire album.my personality. Played daily, from start to finish. Multiple times, perhaps. Listening to Amygdala as I type. Gosh Yoongi, thank you for this life-saving music. I hope you know how special it is to many people.

a year with this masterpiece, and the tracks are still on constant rotation in my playlist. i will always be in awe of the courage it takes for yoongi to put so much of himself in his music, and to be so raw and vulnerable to share his struggles, thoughts and worries with the world. it’s a large part of why his music moves me so much and brings comfort to many – his music is so relatable that you can’t help but feel seen and heard listening to his music.
thank you yoongi, for the incredible amount of content you’ve put out in chapter 2 to carry the team and keep us occupied, and for letting us know “future’s gonna be okay”. till we meet again in 2025 💜
I remember the day this came out I put it on for my journey to work – I drive part way so had the first half of the album for my drive then walked for the second part – it was drizzling with rain a bit and listening to Polar Night and then Snooze walking in the grey drizzle I just knew this album was something special.
I didn’t know how much it would mean to me after a whole year 🖤 thank you Yoongles!

Single handedly changed the way we viewed chopsticks 🥢😼
This MV, and the entire album and tour, impacted me so heavily that I had red chopsticks tattooed onto my body. Life changing for a lot of people. I hope Yoongi knows that.
And my life was forever changed…
I remember see this video for the first time and thinking how Yoongi needs to explore acting. If his music videos were turned into a drama, I’d be hooked.
Probably my favourite of the solo albums so far, although that ‘ranking’ is still prone to changing every two days

Thank you, Yoongi, for an album. I still listen to every day, and I still find new meanings to constantly.
Thank you for D Day, for sparking a ‘Haegeum’ for many of us and helping us to walk out our own door.
What an incredible album.
In honour of the 1 year anniversary, here are my thoughts on how each of these songs teaches us to shed our unhelpful thoughts/emotions.
D day reminds us that our worries are an imaginary swamp. All things fall apart, but it’s ok. Accept it, and remember the sun will come up tomorrow. There’s no use berating yourself.
Haegeum reminds us to free ourselves and think independently. Don’t lose yourself in a tsunami of information.
HUH…well, what the shit do you know about me? Who cares what others think.
Amygdala… your brain holds your cage and the key to free yourself.
SDL, don’t get caught up and lost in nostalgia. Don’t chase a memory.
People part two… you may be losing yourself again. The cyclical nature of depression means it always comes round again. So far away, you’re gone, again, but don’t forget that you are more than enough to be loved.
Polar Night, why do you need everyone to agree with you. Why can’t you accept diversity of opinion and fight for what really matters.
Interlude Dawn…the sun will rise again, things fall apart, but the sun will rise. Shake off all the ‘noise and nonsense’ and watch the sunrise.
Snooze, be kind to others even if it hurts. Let kindness pour out of your eyes as light pours from the sun.
Life goes on. Life goes on, time will heal all, it will destroy all as well, and life will always go on. We don’t know the future, so accept that and hope with an open heart.
