Mildly embarrassing to admit, but I’ve never paid a whole lot of attention to what’s going on the background of BTS songs. I won’t tell y’all how long it took for me to hear the whispered “Suga” in every song. BUT, I have recently been oddly focused on some of the little details that help make their songs SO GOOD. A back beat. A little trill of an instrument. A little hype. And all the amazing adlibs. Here are some of my current favorites:

* Hobi saying [“Hope World, Let’s go” in So What](https://youtu.be/zdLvqiOmWq4?si=Z8_hanYSQ4KfWDsJ&t=121). Can’t stop listening to it. Just so cool.

I *love* Paul Blanco’s ad libs during RM’s final verse on “Closer” – both in the studio version and in the Rolling Hall performance.
I find a lot of joy in yelling the rap line’s adlibs during Go Go.
I love JK’s alib during In The Soop OST, especially the practice rounds he did in the studio lol
The JK and V adlibs in the in the soop soundtrack are adorable.
Also love the way the group + coldplay were recording their adlibs in a circle, it was so cute and happy!
SO MANY! BTS does an amazing job utilizing their vocals and layering them beautifully. A few I can remember:

The “Oh No” adlib Tae does in Singularity and the “Hey Yeah ” JK does in the live performance of Magic Shop right between the bridge of Tae and Jimin singing. They are both just 😘

JK’s ad-libs in Paradise. Every time I hear it I just 🫠
Jungkook adlibs in the live version of [So What](https://youtu.be/bbENYg5MP9Y?si=zP1n7nCon6KSMaTu&t=233) are absolutely legendary.
Also, the [Festa Room 2021 Medley](https://youtu.be/RRhjdYsNwAk?si=JMx2Qt54QX7PVnOH&t=72) is adlib CITY! Given the free-spirited, laid back nature of the performance, literally all the members are adlibbing nonstop through each members’ verses. When I first noticed this after my umpteenth rewatch (lol), I couldn’t un-hear them. Whether it’s lovely vocal runs, rapline echos, or even just straight up shouts/random noises, the entire performance is just fun adlibs nonstop. And the guys are such seasoned artists they know how to improvise and fit them in just the right places.

Ok, one more because, frankly, this one fuckin’ elevates me to new heights and literally gives me goosebumps EVERY TIME:
…JK and Jin’s vocals and adlibs on the Festa version of “So Far Away”…BUT, in particular, their vocal runs from 3:11 – 3:46 (JK’s high notes 🫠) …EARGASM…those few seconds, in my opinion, are one of the BEST vocals EVER recorded, in the history of all music…

Yoongi’s adlibs in Tony Montana! They’re so fun.
Hobi is hidden vocals king — Baepsae is basically built on his sound effects.
I mentioned this in a different thread some time ago, but it still stands.
Listen closely to the background of rap line parts in Louder Than Bombs. Each one has a different ad lib that sends me…
Namjoon- the ohhhh’s after the third and sixth lines when he sings his part:
*Don’t you want a thing from me* (*ohhhh*…)
*Don’t you give up your life* (*ohhhh*…)
Hobi- his uhh’s, deep breaths and sighs in his part.
Yoongi- his entire part in the song! From his unnecessarily extra deep “I just woke up” voice in the first part to his feral screams in the second part…😵💫😵💫😵💫

Don’t know if it counts but Kookie at the very end of Anpanman is one of the main reasons this song was my most played song for two years.
