thank you for all your hard work mods. we appreciate all that you do and we understand this must have been a hard decision for you to add this to the r/bangtan archive but you’re right, it’s important and it’s good to keep us all informed.
to everyone else, the truth will out and bangtan will be okay. if you need a break, please log off and prioritise your mental health. please feel free to message me if you’d like to someone to vent or chat to – we can talk about our favourite silly bangtan moments or what we’re most excited for once we start getting the members back in a month!
sending lots of love to our whole community. bangtan have never done anything except make their music and preach kindness and love, and they will rise above this. 💜
So… the govt had nothing to say all these years, between 2017 and 2024 (that’s a 7-year timespan, mind you)… they gained profit from BTS’s breakthrough in the USA… they gave BTS an order of cultural merit… they gave BTS diplomatic passports… they refused to grant BTS an exemption… BTS are apparently doing really well in the military… and even while BTS was in the military and on hiatus, the govt STILL wanted them to go and perform…
And now the govt turns around and does this. Right when BTS aren’t even here to defend themselves. They went and paraded BTS around and called them the pride of South Korea, and now they’re rehashing the sajaegi accusations that BigHit went to COURT to disprove.
I do want to add that, no matter how angry we all might be with the way the SK govt has treated BTS, let’s not make any xenophobic comments towards South Korea as a whole. Let’s not make disparaging comments towards South Korean people or South Korean culture. Let’s not be like some armys on twt who are posting pics of BTS with the South Korean flag and captioning it with “right person, wrong place”. The govt =/= the people. BTS have made it clear multiple times that they are proud to be South Korean, and the last thing they would want is people shitting on the country they were born and raised in.
I’m just really sad for BTS right now. I’m sad that they’re facing this type of scrutiny & accusations now after they’ve clearly accomplished so much in their careers as artists. I’m so confused about why this is surfacing now other than it being driven by antis/an online smear campaign related to the Hybe/MHJ case.
I’m worried about what Jin will be coming back to in 37 days.
For my sanity I had to step back from many parts of social media. The toxicity is inescapable, no matter how thoroughly I curate my online spaces. I feel this sub is one of the few spaces still around in which more even-keeled discussions are possible. Or simply even just to ‘be’ in – or escape into -, with room to breathe, hang out and not do much of anything besides being ARMY along with other ARMY.

I just find it so sad that they are the ones being hurt the most in this whole situation when they clearly had nothing to do with it.
So many people use them as scapegoats and it’s just so pointless imo.
I feel for the guys and their families, for once, I’m so glad that all of them are out of the public spotlight so they don’t have to deal with this nonsense.
