I've been wondering about this for awhile and am hoping all the more knowledgeable army here can help…since RM and Suga came from the underground rap scene, I'm assuming they got a lot of blowback from that community when they decided to join Big Hit. Even though they were supposed to be a hip hop group, it seems like just going mainstream would create some negativity. I'm wondering if they've ever spoken about this in any interviews/lives/behinds? I am mainly curious about why they decided to join Big Hit, what it was like for them early on vis-a-vis their underground rap connections, and how they felt/what they thought when the group made the transition from hip hop to more "typical" kpop? All I have for reference is this (an old interview from around their debut where they're being questioned by fellow underground rappers. They sort of answer the "why" but indirectly): https://youtu.be/evfNBEeChek?si=SS121_IQAK-jr37y
Other sources I've encountered don't really go into detail/specifics (such as bios of the group, Beyond the Story, etc.).
Appreciate any insight/info about this! Thank you 💜
