What an absolute gem!
My third favourite solo project from BTS during Chapter 2!
A lot of criticism around this being mellow and non grandiose is exactly why I fell in love with it. It’s so very Kim Taehyung.
Slow Dancing is soo beautiful and vibey, especially that flute outro.
Super unexpected that Layover ended up being my fave release from Chapter 2. Listening to KTH’s voice on Layover is like sipping the sweetest hot chocolate on a cold, snowy day. Just… mmmmm!!! 😋 and that “lost without youuu babyyyy 🎶 ” my gosh!!!!
Layover is really the kind of album that grows on you.
Tae became my bias because of his vocal acrobatics on Stigma. I was hoping the same kind of style for his debut album, but it turned out to be quite different.
The more you listen to Layover, the more you notice the little things, the little sounds that makes these songs so special (the solo flute in slow dancing, the little phone keyboard noises in Rainy Days, the key change in For Us)
Anyway, I love Layover and it represents Tae so well.
