This is a really good interview. I hope all the people who insist on keeping JK in the tiny baby bunny lane, and *only* that lane, read this and understand that he is being exactly who he wants to be.

Great interview (loved the aside on the cover pic, lol) but can someone tell whoever writes the photo captions that his name isn’t Jung, JFC.
This wasn’t too long of an article, but well written and respectful, adding in contexts at the right moments even for non-fans. I’ve been loving all the interviews we’ve had of JK this year. They remind me that he has not changed at all in some aspects, but also grown so much in many ways. He’s not nearly done doing things he wants to do or explore in his career, but there’s a quiet assuredness and confidence in himself now, less doubting and questioning, and it’s honestly so lovely to see.
May be an unpopular opinion, but I appreciate the segment addressing boundaries with fans and lines that get crossed sometimes, because let’s be honest, it is a genuine problem that they face in their daily lives, and having a solid answer from Jungkook about how he feels regarding that is a good thing. We may not even agree with him, some of us wanting him to be stricter, or set firmer boundaries, but my favorite thing is the boys speaking for themselves. It’s clear JK knows what he’s doing, and he seems to be in a healthy place of how much he allows to get to him.

Loved this closing line so much, and the fact that it references his interview from back in 2021, highlighting the growth since. Also, thank you for confirming that the shirtless shot was fully JK’s decision xD he knows what he’s doing alright.

Many people think the explicit version is him trying to break out of his image but it’s not exactly like that and more of jungkook showing himself as who he is,
( “People always tell me I look round and soft. I want this sharp, powerful image.” His debut single, Jung Kook says, “wasn’t [me] trying to break away from my image”. In his eyes, the evolution has already occurred, making “Seven” a direct reflection of who he is now. And so he was steadfast and frank during that pivotal livestream. “It was important for me to show how much I’ve grown as a solo artist through taking on new challenges,” Jung Kook explains, “rather than staying in my comfort zone or settling for the things that I was used to. I wanted to fully explain that to my fans.)
Another thing he said about genres of music :“When I hear the music and it’s good, I just proceed with it regardless of the genre. It feels really good to hear people say, ‘Oh, he can pull off any genre,’ so it’d be really fun to surprise people.”, it’s clear to me that jungkook really want to explore so many genres not just boxing himself into one and I am really glad about that as I really think his vocals have the capabilities to shine and be perfect in any genre.
I really loved when he said that he is not Grey and instead he is white color and will paint himself with whatever color he want. This shows really growth in him, I am looking forward to what he will show us in his solo career and music.
when he talked about how he has the freedom to not accept fans inappropriate comments whew I LOVE HIM A LOT for that, he is amazing, truly 💕
I really love that picture where he’s lying down on the leather sofa. He’s gorgeous! The write-up is also quite nice. He’s grown a lot and I admire him for doing exactly what he likes. It’s lovely to see how confident he is nowadays. I’m eagerly anticipating the many different genres he’ll be trying with his next single/his album. I’ve been pretty vocal about not loving Seven, so it’s good news to me personally that its success won’t have any bearing on how his album will sound 😅.
And don’t crucify me, but while I understand why he doesn’t like looking “round and soft” and wants to have an edgier image, that softness is one of the biggest things that make him so interesting and attractive to so many people. It’s precisely the softness that makes the sharper/more powerful elements of his look and personality stand out, and makes him so special. He’s just generally a really interesting guy.
Also, there’s been a lot of Balenciaga for him recently. I wonder if it’s just because he likes the brand or if something’s brewing.
Love, love, love that he’s made it very clearly that Seven wasn’t him ‘breaking free’ of anything, because let’s be real – a lot of people were (and some still are) very weird about the guys showing any sort of skin, swearing,…. in a ‘dark side of K-Pop’ way.
He’s just Jungkook. He can be – and is – cute and hot. A baby bunny and very much a grown-up man. Both of these can and do apply at the same time, they’re not mutually exclusive. And just as much as many people need to realise the ‘and hot’ part of it, there are just as many that need to realise that he still is the bunny, too. It’s not a bad thing; reducing him to *either* of these, however, is, because it’s reductive.
I love him so much. My free-spirited, Bambi-eyed Kookie, forever going where his gut feeling leaves him.

Well, he has given fair warning… hopefully that will stave off most of the unnecessary expectations people hv about the type of music he should pursue

I feel like an additional theme for Chapter 2 is BOUNDARIES and we love to see it. I really think this should be mandatory reading for anyone that thinks they have ownership over their lives.
Also the part about JK showing up with no shirt on is single handed proof of the “this is for army” bobs burgers meme that I cannot find for the life of me.
Wow this was an excellent interview – a proper discussion, very thorough but respectful, no trivial questions but real insight into JK’s thoughts. This is the most mature side I’ve seen of him – not that I’m saying he’s been immature up till now, more that it feels like he’s been able to really express himself here.
Also the photos are gorgeous, SO tastefully edited – he looks stunning 😍 they might be my favourite JK photos in Chapter 2 so far! The one in the car with the little peek of torso, but also the one on the sofa… I’m not a merch person but I might have to get a copy of this 😅
this was a lovely read, with another look into how he’s thought about his life and career in chapter 2.

i laughed at the line “it’s less about set goals and more about vibes”, but i’m also reminded of his suchwita ep with yoongi where he said he won’t be satisfied until he himself considers himself awesome. with the amount of talent and hard work he puts into his craft, i’m 100000% sure he’ll reach that goal someday soon. we already consider you the coolest, most talented, little giant pop star, kookie 🙂

something i’ve noticed in pretty much all of them in chapter 2 is this acceptance and being at peace with not knowing what’s about to come and choosing instead to live in the present. for people with careers that take tons and tons of planning and with so much uncertainty surrounding it, i’m sure this is a tough mindset to adopt, but i’m glad that it’s something that they’ve all worked towards. there’s been a clear shift in how confident and assured the tannies are in chapter 2, in who they are and what they’re doing, and i really, truly love that for them.
