>Miu Sakamoto (MS) talking about Yoongi, her father Ryuichi Sakamoto, and the song ‘Snooze’.
>Interviewer Nakano: Have you talked about BTS with your father?
>MS: A few years ago, I lectured him a several times saying how SUGA-san started to like your songs since he saw “Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence” and “The Last Emperor”. Last year, he visited my father and they made a song together called ‘Snooze’. It was released right after my father passed away. I feel like he’ll carry the spirit/soul of Ryuichi Sakamoto. During SUGA-san’s concert, there was a memorial message after the video (before singing Snooze), and seeing that made me feel that my father is still living in the song. I was truly encouraged/comforted by that. I went to the concert in Japan and Thailand, but if I hadn’t gone through/experienced this process, I might still be (stuck) in deep sadness of losing my father.
>N: There’s a concept called “work of mourning” which Freud advocated. It’s about the mental process of overcoming and living through the grief/sadness of being separated from the people you love. It’s effective to gradually feel/realize the loss of of that person in the midst of busyness (intentionally putting yourself in a situation where you have many things to do).
>MS: If I think that way, I believe following/keeping up with SUGA-san’s solo activity was my work of mourning. It was physically hard, but something that was necessary/needed for me.

Oh wow… things have really come full circle for SUGA. From his love for Ryuichi Sakamoto, to now, Miu’s love for him as an ARMY helping her during her mouring period for her father.
She also posted [a sweet message to Yoongi](https://twitter.com/shookigi/status/1705122175987098074?t=SO4VBZZ5JKPEsnu0N_bUBQ&s=19) on her IG stories for his enlistment. Linked to the twitter mirror and trans by Mina since it was from a few days ago and gone now.
>Beautiful Yoongi.
While treasuring and nurturing the love that you poured into us, when all 7 of you are together in 2025, I want to have become someone who, while in a different place, had tried their best and can proudly say so.
And once again, I want to become a bead in this call of love(*).
>I will be waiting.
>Take care.
>Hoping that everyday will be fun.
>Hoping that you will meet great people.
>Please always be happy.
>(*referring to being a part of the fanchant during lgo)
That is so lovely. These are the things I think only music can do. It brings us together in a way that nothing else can.
Awww. This is so sweet. My heart aches Miu for losing her sad and at the same time I am happy with the way her dad was immortalized during SUGA’s live performance of “Snooze”. SUGA is really a caring person.
That is so wholesome. This song is so emotional and I completely understand why it made Yoongi cry last time. I also think about Ryuichi and it does feel like his work and spirit are carried on with the song.
That’s why people like this are basically immortal in a way, they don’t truly disappear from our sight, their work, their legacy will carry on, inspiring/conforting people.
> I feel like he’ll carry the spirit/soul of Ryuichi Sakamoto.
Crying over this sentence.
This is so lovely. I’m a big admirer of Ryuichi Sakamoto and it makes me so happy that Yoongi was able to work with him and create such a beautiful song.
The way music can often be healing is truly amazing.
