Jack Harlow’s rap is terrible. Latto’s lyricism worked so well in Seven. His rap is just vulgar and his flow is bad. The song is great without his parts.

I… feel strong dislike for the Jack Harlow rap(s). I felt eh and then I heard ABG and just like rolled my eyes. I don’t know anything about him but get ick from those verses and his sections of the MV. It’s too bad – I generally thought it was nice and catchy and JK sounds great and looks like he’s having fun but can’t imagine listening to the version with JH. Thankfully Spotify has the Alternate Ver which is all JK – it’s more enjoyable this way for me.

The female dancers who bust out in all black around 1:08 looked awesome too!

Thoughts… JK looks hot as always, wet choreo ftw, gold star for whoever came up with that! I liked his parts, the song is catchy (I do think I preferred Seven a little more but I’ll keep streaming like the good ARMY I am).

The rap… I don’t mind spicy or explicit lyrics, I definitely don’t mind fucking seven days a week. But these lyrics felt a little cheap to me. More like Expensive Girl than 21st Century Girl.

Oh well the alternate version it is for me, I didn’t really enjoy Jack Harlow’s part at all.

I’m honestly so glad to see everyone else saying Jack Harlow’s lyrics give them the ick. 😅 I’m relieved it’s not just me! Jungkook’s part was great but Jack’s lyrics are coming off pretty misogynistic to me. It’s honestly a little disappointing that they were even included on his song. I’ll only be listening to the alternate version from here on out.

Oh love the early 2000s vibes! Jungkook is so versatile, and the MV is really fun, even though the storyline had me confused (but that’s because I’m barely awake). A reason to go back and watch it again later!

It’s a fun little bop, but I’ll be honest… nothing that, idk, ‘picks me up’. I think I said this before during Seven, but it feels almost a little *too* generic in the lyrics. If JK doesn’t want to write himself that’s absolutely fine by me – I personally think it’s a shame, because he’s very talented and the solos he has written have a very beautiful sensitivity that’s so him, but it’s also a lot of work, and especially in a language you’re far from fluent in. The reason why he doesn’t want to write doesn’t matter; it’s his choice and that’s great! If he wants to be an interpreter instead, which is a huge skill in itself, that’s a valid choice and one he’s perfectly suited to with his versatility.

The lyrics just… idk don’t seem ‘personalised’, when that was and is a big charm of BTS’ English songs as a group. Anyone could sing this, and it’d probably be mildly successful because it’s a bop and an American label would use the magic of payola to push some small debut artist – but Jungkook singing it is what makes it into a standout. I *personally* would like if the lyrics were a little less generic, and a little more ‘hey, we got Jungkook of BTS, one of THE biggest pop stars in history’, and by that I mean I wish they had a little *more*. I have no word for it, but I hope you know what I mean – to me personally they just feel a little flat.

And yeah, BH and JK signed up on it, but that doesn’t mean I can’t wish / hope for something that takes him out of the ‘generic pop boy’ feeling this serves right now 😅 think Bieber or, a good comparison for this, Justin Timberlake – they have a distinct sound that goes beyond their voice, and I think it’s also linked to their lyrics. I’d wish the same for JK, especially as he’s so keen on surfing genres (which is SO exciting!!).

I said something similar about Seven, I think, and 3D, in comparison, is more jarring 😅 Anyways, our Kookie is an excellent performer, and he’s the one that – once again – will make this a standout song. It’s very trendy, very fun.

but… Jack Harlow’s verse is… actively bad. I know being cheesy and a bit cringe is his brand, but it genuinely didn’t expect *this*. If his flow were better it wouldn’t be so bad, but somehow it just feels like a bit of a mess to me. It’s especially jarring because JK has his little rap moment not too long before, which is SO cool and had me kicking my feet, and it makes the difference really stark.

Honestly, you could show me the lyrics, tell me it’s a joke rap from The Lonely Island and I’d have believed it 😅

And then, when you think ‘yay more JK’, Jack Harlow *makes a second appearance* 😅 definitely an experience at 5am. It didn’t feel real at first. I feel like there was a rumor about a version without Jack, and I hope it’s true…

(Also, a gripe, but I wish people would learn how to pronounce JK’s name correctly. I know it’s necessary for the rhyme to work, but eh…)

The choreo looks really, really cool though! All these hours JK put in really paid off – I’m eagerly awaiting the dance practice!!

That rap was so horrendous it genuinely wiped the smile off my face and made my skin crawl. Maybe i’m dramatic and don’t listen to western rappers but the entire thing felt degrading and fetishizing… idk man I just feel like no one truly explained to JK wtf Jack was saying bc it’s so loaded but must be impossible to translate.

Will only be listening to the alternate ver for sure and I hope no one uses this feature against JK. here’s to hoping his album is more of JUST him 🙏

So we all agree that Jack’s verse was really disappointing? The dead body & abg lines caught me so off guard. I was not just underwhelmed i was genuinely disappointed listening to 3D that i don’t even have the heart to go listen to the alternative version to see if it’s worth it. Putting myself on november album mode already to try and forget about this 😅

But then…..I am admittedly a Certified Jack Harlow Hater, so I def went into this with a negative bias from the second the collab got announced, but I was hoping he might finally surprise me. His part is um. So much worse than I was even expecting it to be tbh.

I have a lot of mixed feelings about this. In terms of production and quality, it’s a bop. It’s everything the Gods of pop would approve of.

In terms of lyrics, it’s everything I hate. Frankly even without Jacks’s part. Music is overly saturated with horny men. The one reason I really, truly loved BTS is because they showed respect for women and for themselves. This is the opposite of that. I’m glad there is a level of consent on JKs part and good for him for adding that, but I was just hoping for something different to be honest.
