I have seen people calling this JK’s fuckboy phase. I have seen people saying Jack Harlow’s verse is about SA’ing a woman until she is dead (it is most definitely NOT, my goodness). I have seen people say they are passing over this song and era because it’s not their cup of tea due to explicitness. I personally am disheartened and heavily annoyed by the army who are behaving ‘holier than thou.’

As JK has mentioned, the fandom is comprised of different generations. 3D is not aimed at the children. Nor is it anywhere at the same level as the likes of WAP, for example, or any of Bad Bunny’s discography which is primarily explicit. No one had a problem with Lil Nas X singing about riding and there were not this many complaints when Nicki dropped Super Freaky Girl. In fact, their music was all supported and popular.

Sexual lyrics like JH’s are for a bit of shock factor, I’ll admit, but people lamenting about them being of “low standards” are spitting in the face of an entire subject matter in a genre and culture of music that features grown adults comfortable in their sexualities. The worst thing JH said in his verse was that he enjoys multiple partners, yet people are taking this as objectification of women. I’m sorry, but him rapping about his own promiscuity is not that deep.

The people who feel “icky” (an actual term I’ve seen used repeatedly) over the song and/or just JH’s verse, are in their right not to listen to it or just enjoy the alternate version (which is also a fun bop), but the collective outrage has grown past the point of insufferable and unnecessary in my opinion.

TL;DR – Jack Harlow’s verse is not the disrespectful spawn of Satan so many people think it is, and the judgement and outrage is hypocritical.
