* Online Entry Process Access Period – July 17, 2023 – August 31, 2023
* first round of voting – October 11, 2023 – October 20, 2023 – On the first ballot, voters select the entries they believe should receive GRAMMY nominations.
* Nominees announced – November 10, 2023
* Final round voting – December 14, 2023 – January 4, 2024 – On the final ballot, voters select the entries they believe should receive GRAMMY Awards.
* 66th annual Grammy Awards – February 4, 2024

**How does the Recording Academy decide how to sort each entry into the proper category?**

Answer from the [Recording Academy website](https://www.recordingacademy.com/awards/faq) – “More than 150 experts across various musical fields meet to ensure that recordings are placed in their appropriate categories. These committees do not make artistic or technical judgments about the recordings, but merely ensure that each entry is placed in the proper category. From there, we arrive at the official first-round ballot.”

They have all worked so hard this year. So much award-quality content! Proud proud.

I never really follow the Grammys that carefully. What is the difference between the Record of the Year and Song of the Year categories?

This is not the nominations yet but I remember the bated breath the sub had while we were waiting for the (our first) 2019 noms. We got best packaging nom for tear.

Anyway a lot are under the pop category even though I personally will not label some of it as such. Competition is tough, and in reality grammys are not the best metric for excellence and impact, but I still hope they get a nom. 🤞

Theoretical question, If Jin, Hobi or Yoongi get nominations for their work, would the military let them attend the awards to perform if invited?

I don’t expect noms and definitely not wins with the way Grammys work… But damned am I just proud that all seven had things this year that could legit be submitted. I’m proud of them.

Might be a silly question but is there a reason why Take Two wasn’t submitted? Is it because of the break and expectations for chapter two?
