The expansion of kpop categories, whew. Soon kpop will get its own US award show too, give them the Latin Grammys treatment. What a joke.
Edit: Looks like the only non-kpop category with BTS in it is [Top Selling Song](https://twitter.com/chartdata/status/1717566957614964933?t=-cGter33_G4TivLxDJov1Q&s=19) with Jimin’s ‘Like Crazy’.
All Kpop categories. Some of these deserve to be in main categories but whatever
on one hand i’m super proud of how much the boys have achieved and how they’ve opened the door for all the other kpop acts by literally jump starting these kpop categories, but on the other hand i’m soo tired of them being constantly pigeonholed in said categories lol
but eh… we have this conversation every award season and no one else listens
What’s crazy is that as of now, each kpop nomination has a BTS member there, which shows how strong they are as individuals in each category.
I do feel like they are pushing kpop categories to keep not only kpop songs/artists out of the main ones but also other categories (be it rap or country or latin) but that’s a take for another day.

What’s the word for being unsurprised, disgusted, exhausted, yet proud of their achievements all at once, even though those achievements are not recognized to their full extent, because this particular awards show (as well as many others) and the Western music industry overall is ridiculous, and also quite frightened by 7 men from Korea who will be returning to completely dominate said music industry in 2025/2026, so said music industry is trying to segregate them while they can, also hoping to solicit as much engagement from the fandom as possible because they know we don’t give a flying flip about their little awards show, but they need us for ratings, because no one is watching their little awards show, and they are at the end of their rope because they thought the “hiatus” meant they wouldn’t have to deal with Bangtan and ARMY any more, but oh hey, would you look at that, neither Bangtan nor ARMY are going anywhere. 💅
