I’m loving Yes or No! Omggggg
Closer To You is such a slutty grinding glossy club booppoo I’m swirling my hips
Yes or No is giving me insane NSYNC x Usher vibes it’s so vibey
Please Don’t Change??? This is a face to face dancing song whewwwwww.
Hate You is going to spawn so many sad girl TikTok videos. Yes I will be walking the gloomy winter streets with this playing. The lyrics are beautiful.
Jungkook said let me serve you moody and sexy and thus Somebody was born.
Too Sad to Dance is giving bobba bunny energy. Like who hurt you baby.
Shotglass is giving kinda Post Malone vibes I’m into it
IT’S UP THE ALBUM IS UP
Oh if I don’t get Closer to You in the club this weekend I’m rioting
Hate you makes my heart ache for the lost love the younger me had to go through 😭😭😭
Closer To You make me wanna throw my hips 💃🏻
Closer to you and please don’t change have those 2010 electronic hits haha idk how to explain
Yes or No will go viral I can feel it
Yes or No is sooooo good!!
🍾🍾🍾
THIS IS SO GOOD GUYS HE DID IT, WE MADE IT!!!!!
I gotta go to bed but can’t wait to read everyone’s reactions when I wake up. HELLO CLOSER TO YOU 💃🥵 And then emotional whiplash on Hate You ❤️🩹😭 I can’t wait to listen to it start to finish!
I thought the album flow was not very seamless until I realized my dumb ass had shuffle mode on 😩
The transition between Please Don’t Change and Hate You gave me whiplash
Where my Canadians at? “Somebody” is giving me Sean Desmond but so much better lmaoooo
I’m actually shaking while listening to this 😅 the drama of Standing Next To You might make it my favorite so far.
Shot Glass of Tears is really beautiful.
I got to Somebody and said “Now who is that singing?” Man is giving us RANGE
IM GONNA HATE YOUUUUUUU
>now everybody’s laughing at me
and when I find them
Shot Glass of Tears is the perfect ending song (even if it’s not technically the last song)
Is it just Jungkook or is it a bts thing when a love centric story always takes a turn to the worse…?😭
I was not prepared for Hate you, I felt that in my soul.
Okay, which one are we going to put on the #1 global Spotify?
Yes Or No is 100% the song for me, OMG I love it 💗💞💖
His vocals in Hate You is just purely magical 🥲 It’s giving me broadway musical vibes 💜
The theme in this album is very cohesive. Making me question how many songs he dumped along the road to reach to this final lineup 😔
listening to ‘too sad to dance’, i can already imagine just him, an acoustic guitar, and him & ARMYs singing together during the “dadadada dadadadadum” part 🥺
Closer to you – This is such a sensual song. The breathy whisper quality in his voice gave me goosebumps.🫣
Yes or No – I didn’t even have to check the credits to know that Ed Sheeran had a hand in this. The earnestness and sincerity of a love confession just shines through.
Please Don’t Change – Makes me wanna get up and dance. Shake my hips with the vibe and rhythm. The message of the song is so different from the melody.
Hate You – My heart dropped and ached when this song came up. He poured so much emotions into it.
Somebody – His voice in the beginning 🤯. I view it as a song you would listen to immediately after you have an angry break up. The kind where you miss them but hate them too.
Too Sad to Dance – Dararadumdara is gonna be stuck in my head for a long time.
Shot glass full of tears – I really want it to be included as a soundtrack in a movie where the lead is getting over his lost love. Just a montage of him moving on, falling, trying, getting up again. And finally he smiles with acceptance.
The story that this album paints is so beautiful and relatable. I love how BTS solo albums have an underlying narrative that almost every one of us can understand. We can create a complete romance movie out of this album.
Kind of already shared my thoughts over on r/kpopthoughts but overall the album was pretty good. I was really worried because I just wasn’t into 3D or Seven that much and the first half of the album didn’t do much for me, but the second half of Golden was great! Somebody should have been about a minute longer and should have been the title track. That style of song suits his voice so much more than the pop hits he likes so much.
I would have liked to seen a more cohesive sound or narrative across the album as it jumped all over the place but I know he’s kind of a spaghetti at the wall kind of guy and he wants to try everything.
Not big on Standing Next to You. I’m kind of tired of the 80s influenced sound and the song is kind of all over the place in structure, but I enjoyed the music video. Glad to see a sort of love interest featured in it too.
Somebody, and Shot Glass Full of Tears are my top fave b sides rn!
Standing Next to You is an incredible title track.
Please Don’t Change and Hate You are also impeccable.
10/10 – really hella proud of Jung Kook. He really did the thing!! I can’t wait to see him perform Standing Next To You, I fear I might not recover watching the dance break via live performance but that’s a risk I’ll absolutely have to take.
Standing next to you
Please Don’t Change
Yes or No
Hate You
Straight up hits imo 🥂
Title is my favorite.
Gonna have to listen to the album a few more times but I wasn’t exactly blown away by any of the songs.
i didn’t see any previews or teasers so i’ve gone into this blind, but i did see the tracklist and credits and knew there were definitely going to be some bops.
this is honestly no skips. the flow of it and the different genres work together SO WELL. the DJ features are so catchy and have replay value for me and the slower, ballad songs are so fresh. i’m so proud of jungkook! he’s actually our international popstar. his vocals are such a standout and shine through. it’s so exciting he’s making the music that he wanted to and showing us this side of himself.
closer to you: i think this is my favourite so far!! i listened to this for the first time with speakers but i just know his vocals and the bass is going to sound so good with headphones. the breathy vocals, the sing-rapping, like i don’t think we’ve heard this side of his vocal range before and i LOVE IT.
standing next to you: i love love love this for the title track! the retro funk feel, the VOCALS, the choreography. it’s the whole package for a great performance and experience. you can’t not move when listening to this.
yes or no: this is giving me jesse mccartney circa early 00s. the chorus is super catchy, a solid pop song.
please don’t change: we love a sad bop. gonna be singing ‘please, please don’t change’ for the rest of the afternoon.
hate you: ooooh his layered vocals in the chorus gave me goosebumps. he sounds INCREDIBLE. the simple piano and the strings, honestly magical.
somebody: again, vocals??? he sounds SO GOOD. the effect on his vocals is done really well, and matches with the rest of the song. the beat kicking in the chorus, i am loving these sad bops lol. this and closer to you are going next to each other in my playlist
too sad to dance: dadadada dadadadum is so catchy. the lyrics are sweet and the storytelling is so different from the rest of the album
shot glass of tears: SO GOOD. my favourite slower song on the album. the melody is so good, almost cathartic in a way. and the way that the instrumental swells with the vocals feels so perfect. and ending on that ‘makin’ me fall in love’ before going straight into seven, i am not emotionally ready.
my favourites on first listen are closer to you, somebody and shot glass full of tears i think. this will probably change in the next 24 hours hahaha
someone said his voice at the start of “somebody” sounds like usher and now i can’t unhear
After my first two listens I have to say that this album is truly a masterpiece 🫠👏🏻
*3D* – I‘m still team Alternate Version, so I‘m gonna have this one on my playlists. I really like the 2000s feel about it.
*Closer To You* – I love the beat so much. Jungkook‘s deeper vocals are so satisfying to listen to. And I love the way he pronounces *closer* in the pre chorus (?).
*Seven* – Well, this is my most listened to song this year – Do I have to say more? 😂
*Standing Next To You* – This song is just so grand. I love the music, especially the bass. Jungkook‘s high notes are fantastic! I love love love the pre chorus! The way he sings every last word of each line – perfection! I love the trumpet near the end 🫠
*Yes or No* – This song is stuck in my head since I heard the preview! This gives early 2000s vibes and I love it so much! It’s so catchy and I love the guitar 🔥
*Please Don’t Change* – This song is such a banger. The beat is amazing and his deep vocals omg. It’s so catchy! Definitely one of my faves!
*Hate You* – Well, this made me teary eyed. This is the beautiful ballad I was hoping for. His vocals are so soft and full of emotions. The lyrics break my heart but it’s such a beautiful song. What a masterpiece.
*Somebody* – omg in the beginning I didn’t recognize that this was his voice, wow! I really like the beat and I especially love the chorus.
*Too Sad To Dance* – I really like the electric guitar in this song. The melody sounds happy but the lyrics are sad. This song also gives me 2000s vibes and that’s right up my alley. The whistling at the end is so nice to listen to.
*Shot Glass of Tears* – This song pulls at my heartstrings. I especially love the piano. Just like in *Hate You* Jungkooks vocals are so soft, it’s so beautiful.
I listened for the third time while typing this. This album is everything I hoped for and more. I’m a pop girlie so I kinda knew I would like his alblum but wow, he absolutely blew me away. I also want to appreciate his pronunciation! We saw in *Left and Right* and *Seven* that pronunciation is really important to him, so he must have put a lot of effort in for his album.
I’m so proud of him and I just know that the streaming numbers are gonna be insane. I’m excited for all the promo he is gonna do and I can’t wait to hear all these song live!
