[Desert Island Discs – Lea Salonga](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m001s53c)
Lea Salonga appeared on Desert Island Discs today, a radio programme in the U.K. which has been on air since 1942. It asks guests to choose eight of their favourite records which they’d take if they were castaway on a desert island.
She spoke briefly about BTS and chose two songs – >!”Singularity”!< and >!”Snooze” by Agust D.!<

Wow, I’ve been waiting for someone to choose BTS songs for Desert Island Discs! For anyone who doesn’t know, it’s a HUGE radio program in the UK and very very well respected – my mum always listened every single week while I was growing up (and I always secretly think about which 8 songs I’d choose if I went on the show lol). The fact that Lea choose 2 out of her 8 songs to be BTS songs is wonderful, she really is a huge fan and supporter of the boys! This will absolutely get their music heard by a demographic that usually would not get a chance to hear BTS in the wild, this is a really cool opportunity! It’s mainly listened to by older people, and Radio 4 has a bit of a reputation for being the more ‘intellectual’ station – it’s usually serious discussions and news programs and quizzes and things. Thank you for shouting out our boys, Lea!
Not only is Desert Island Discs super popular and well respected, Lea Salonga is super popular and well respected (as she should be because her voice is INCREDIBLE). This is so great to hear, thank you Lea!
Oh this is very cute. My mum listens to Desert Island Discs, it’s a really respected show. Maybe she will finally stop saying *What is that again?* after I mention BTS for the thousandth occasion next time!
I will also go and listen to Lea’s reasoning for her choices now.
She had 8 choices and 2 of them BTS. I love when great talent recognizes great talent.
She starts talking about BTS around the 28:00 mark, Singularity ~29:30 and Snooze at 38:15. How she zoomed into “Everything will be alright”. 🥺
Her bias is V! 🙂
She has taste! 🤌
I love Lea Salonga and this made me love her even more!
Love ‘Desert Island Discs’ – such a cool show and always great suggestions from the guests of songs or artists that I might not be aware of. I don’t know if I could ever get my list down to 8.
