The way he imitated her when introducing her is hilarious! And the way she gazes at him like a fond noona!
It’s as if Yoongi knew I’d be feeling a little emo after Jungkook’s concert and he’s coming through with new Suchwita
is there a suchwita bingo card? we’re 10 minutes in and he’s already mentions jung kook.
edit: and jhope earlier!
Sorry Yoongi I need a few hours of recovery before I dive into this 🥹
Didn’t realize she was so close to Le Sserafim …and the hybe family generally
I loved this episode! They bounced off each other so well!
She’s a diva! I like her
What a nice interview!
Also is my first time hearing KWill was at bighit before starship
yoongi’s ability to relate to his guests’ stories no matter who he’s talking to is such a skill. i really liked the part when uhm jung hwa spoke about how she wanted to be both an actress and a singer and refused to let people tell her she had to only choose one, and yoongi relating that to him having to reconcile his identity as both a rapper and an idol.
uhm jung hwa has such confident, cheeky noona energy – it was so fun seeing her get yoongi flustered 😂
Oh my heart. They are so lovely together.
Uhm Hung Jwa’s voice is so lovely, I think I can listen to her talk forever. 😍 You can just hear joy and youth in her voice, it’s very attractive.
I hope one day they can work together in a song. Or Yoongi can just create the story for her concert. That works, too. 😄
Love how they drew parallels about her experience debuting as an actress and singer at the same time and Yoongi as an idol-rapper. I love those moments when Yoongi and his guest just finds those connections. So special.
When she mentioned BTS approaching her after the yearend show, it makes my heart just burst with pride. More than anything, more than their accolades, they are just really good people and I love how they are not afraid of showing appreciation to their sunbaes.
I will never tire hearing Suchwita guests rave about the show, right in front of Yoongi. And even better when industry sunbaes apreciate their work.
Love how easygoing the whole conversation was and I am really impressed at how well Yoongi goes thru it with quiet confidence but never imposing. He’s always meeting people where they are, not where they should be.
For a bit there when he talked about how he’s changed so much while doing Suchwita and how he enjoys it, I thought we were gonna get the dreaded goodbye message. I breathe a little easier since there’s no goodbye. There has to be more episodes, right?
As usual with every episode, I have a growing list of people that I want to see in this show. Hope to see more female guests. Anybody knows who else has new albums/shows/movies coming up for promotion? 😄
She really has a great personality! Probably one of the reasons for her longevity in the entertainment industry
Can’t wait to finish this up later today!
She is so sweet 😊 Had a smile on my face the entire time
Yoongi affirming that the haters are just jealous 😎
I know her as Refund Sister member hahaha but I’ll look up her other work!
Oh dear God she’s a hoot! If I’m anything like her when I grow up I’ll be thrilled!
You don’t realise how much you’ve missed Min Yoongi till you turn on a new Suchwita episode and notice all the little things you so adore about him – his endearing (and exaggerated) way of advertising products, his big arm movements as he describes things, touching his ear as he tries to make a point, looking at the camera for reactions, talking about his team 😭 as always, he nailed this episode, and the convo flowed so well.
Uhm Junghwa is such a star, and with a lovely most kind sounding voice. I loved the things they talked about, which I’m sure Yoongi again gained so much from – very real things about being an aging entertainer, opportunities slowly fading, not being able to hit quite the same notes or moves, struggles with being recognised due to people’s biased views. She’s been through it all, and continues to, yet has come away from it so strong and bright. She seems like such a happy, active person. I think Suchwita really does such a great job of introducing these artists to new audiences because now I’m excited to listen to her music and check out her shows and movies.
I miss Yoongi so so much.
She was so sweet every time she smiled!! It’s great to see a woman with such a long career in the entertainment industry.
Another meaningful, substantive conversation on Suchwita. I really liked how Uhm Jung Hwa pointed out how skillful Yoongi is in drawing how these conversations. I also liked how Yoongi said he has grown a lot in doing this series.
To me, the standout points of the episode are:
– how kind, sincere and happy Uhm Jung Hwa appears. I enjoyed listening to her talk. She has that sparkle in her eyes and it communicates really well. I totally understand why she wants to always keep that sparkle. I hope he always keep it as well.
– I really like when yoongi has older guests on his show. It seems like he gets so much from talking to them. I appreciate how Uhm Jung Hwa mentioned that her voice is not the same as she ages. She had to adjust her thinking and her songs (singing in a lower note) in order to keep on singing. It was really cool that she shared how she had doubts about putting on another concert but was able to push through those doubts. The honest, vulnerable conversation gets me.
– the conversation around personal stories in songs is spot on.
– BTS really kept to themselves. The backstage story about the 2017 Gayo Daejeon further demonstrates the point made in the memoir. BTS, for a multitude of reasons, including how they were not from a big company and the early (I would say unreasonable) hate they got, stayed within themselves.
– It was cool to see how Uhm Jung Hwa went to greet them (and they greeted her) when she saw them during Gayo. It shows how nice she is. I think the members being close to her (Hobi inviting her to his listening party and her being in suchwita) could probably be pinpointed to this moment. (It also seems she has a connection to Bang PD as well, which is another point of contact between her and BTS) Chapter 2 can be characterized as BTS breaking away from their isolation and showcasing the friendships/connections they made over these 10 years. I wonder if the members (pretty sure yoongi does) ever think about how different their status is now.
– I wonder if we will get a Uhm Jung Hwa song produced by Suga? Or will there be a sighting of Yoongi at her December concert?
I hope we will get more suchwita. Don’t know how many he recorded, but I will be sad if we don’t get more. The day will come though. I should prepare myself for it. Sigh. I hope yoongi is doing well.
