Hello to [our brightest stars](https://i.imgur.com/ID45Ail.jpg)- ARMY!
Our fearless leader, Namjoon, regularly inspires all of us to find beauty in the ordinary, in the small things and life in general. When he goes namjooning, we go with him. Be it a museum or a gallery or nature, the art he finds in the smallest moments brightens up our skies and makes our lives a bit more.
While he’s not with us, we want you to show love by doing a bit of *namjooning* of your own: post your pictures of museum and/or gallery visits, you favorite art piece – or even of street art and street murals. Share your favorite *Namu* – tree in the whole wide world and hug it often if you can!
And if there are special words – a quote, a poem or a line – that touches your heart as do the lyrics our dear Joon writes, you can share them here too.
**
How to participate in the Namjoon’s Poem for Small Things:

My favorite poem of all time just happens to perfectly encapsulate how I feel about BTSxARMY. It’s a poem I’ve always thought Joon would appreciate, in meaning and lyricism.

Here’s my favorite tree. It’s nothing special, especially when I think about all the majestic redwoods I encounter here in the Bay Area. It’s simply a tree I see often on my favorite, casual trail. It’s scraggly and windswept. I like how it’s crooked and slanted. It’s there, doing its thing on that small hill that juts out into the trail. Whenever I turn the bend and I see it coming up, I smile.

I stayed at my family’s house at the countryside this year when I was pretty down. This was the view from my room’s balcony. I would read books there, and it just kept making me think of Namjoon. And thinking of Namjoon always calmed me down because ever since “Not Today” came out, I had that song as my alarm and his intro became my pep talk every day. Until now, I would have that alarm before I start my work. Especially during the days when I’m too sad, I know I’m always getting comforted as soon as I hear Namjoon’s voice, “A day may come when we lose, but it is not today.” And like an echo in the forest, life goes on for me…

*“And as I love you, the pines in the wind want to sing your name with their leaves of wire.”* — Here I Love You, Pablo Neruda
Almost every Neruda love poem I’ve read reminds me of Namjoon. He ties nature with emotions so well, and I can’t help but think “That is so Namjoon-coded.”

the specific sweetness that is
the water of your voice
tumbling forth—like I said
I don’t ever really mind
how much more
you might keep speaking
as it simply means
I get to hear you
speak for longer.
What was a stream
now a river.

This was a cherry blossom in Tokyo in 2018, and I loved the serenity of the moment. The reflection of the tree on the water seemed to show how there is a beauty in the small things but it’s fragile. A storm, and it’s gone. You have to truly be there in the moment to feel the breeze on your skin and the alternating warmth of the sun that peeks through the clouds.
