What have you all started out the new year playing / watching / reading / listening to / etc?

I’ve been playing lots of games due to my little quarantine (all the tests I took ended up negative and I’m feeling mostly better now haha).
Started off with restarting Breath of the Wild – I believe this is my third time. I’ve never beaten it before! I was gifted Tears of the Kingdom so it’s a goal to finish it for real this time haha.
I also continued some of Hana Awase Karakurenai / Utsutsu Volume. Finished a route and I still have one more left, which shouldn’t take too long. I still think the opening song for this volume is so good. Each time I open the game I go to the BGM section and listen to it a few times before playing. 💃
Then I started playing some of the Alan Wake remaster. I saw the musical performance from The Game Awards for Alan Wake 2 and decided I need to play the series, especially after learning >!the performance is actually an interactive musical level in the game and I am absolutely here for games doing ridiculous things like that. How it’s going to fit into a survival horror game I do not know but I look forward to it haha!<. It’s a bit eerie, off-kilter, and intriguing. Definitely has big Twin Peaks energy.
And finally, my new GPU arrived! So I slapped that sucker in and started Baldur’s Gate 3. I’ve played for a few hours now and I am having fun! I started with my go-to build for any game with these sorts of choices apparently, a wood elf ranger. 🙂
I also feel like I read quite a bit! I read & finished Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries as my last book of 2023. I really enjoyed it a lot! Just good wintry vibes and I really liked the main character. Happy to learn that the 2nd book is releasing soon, as in less than 2 weeks haha.
I just finished my first book of 2024 today, A Study in Drowning! It was another one that I liked. The gothic setting was really well-done and I thought it had nice commentary in it. Lately stories about stories & the women in them have been really enjoyable for me.
Now the very difficult problem of figuring out what I want to read next!
